About Su

A short biography of Su Walls, painter and printmaker

work on Su's easel

Su lives in Pwllheli on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula in North West Wales. After a career as an English and Drama teacher in the inner cities of Birmingham and Leicester, she attended the Fine Art Department at De Montfort University for two years but didn't complete the degree course because there was an immediate opportunity to settle in Pwllheli. North Wales is where she feels she belongs.

Over the last 10 years Su has developed both painting and printmaking techniques using the locality around her and the wild life of South Africa as her main subject matter.

Su's husband is from South Africa and together they have spent some wonderful time there, mainly in the Kalahari Desert. She was able to exhibit her wildlife works in The William Humphreys Museum and Art Gallery in Kimberley, South Africa, in 2008. This work was also hung at the Harlech Theatr and was very well received.

Su has recently turned her attention to the wildlife here in North Wales.
